Deliciously disturbing. Gary Jules‘ cover of the Tears For Fears song Mad World is haunting enough without the visuals of this creepy clown bellhop in an ill-fitting uniform who looks like a cross between a hunger striker and elastic man. »» comments (zero) |

Here’s a wonderful little short by Tim Burton and narrated by Vincent Price about a boy named Vincent, who sort of reminds me of myself.
Thanks to Chuck G for pointing out this little gem again. An oldie but a goody. »» comments (zero) |

It has been a long time since I have posted on this site. It makes sense that the first post after my recent hiatus should be one about abandoned buildings. Due to my fascination with forgotten places I have been known to indulge in a little Urban Exploration, or UE for short. I think my intrigue with such things has to do with my interest in history and other myths and legends. Walking into an old, abandoned house makes my imagination run wild with ideas about who could have lived there, what had happened there and what still might lurk within the walls. This video captures that feeling very well: Forgotten Places from ?Zac Boyet? on Vimeo. I don’t recommend trespassing or exploring dilapidated, possibly dangerous buildings. If you really want to see inside make sure you take proper safety precautions and get permission to be on the property. »» comments (one) |

The Codex Gigas, which translated to English means, Giant Book, and pictured above is said to be the largest known medieval manuscript in the world.
No one knows for sure who wrote this manuscript, dated to the early 13th century. That fact has given rise to numerous legends attempting to explain its existence. Here’s a particularly eerie one:
Recently National Geographic HD aired an hour long documentary about the book and the investigation of the manuscript by various experts. Here’s an excerpt from the show: The findings experts in the program were that the book was the work of a solitary scribe over what must have been years, perhaps as many as 30. Perhaps doing penance for some unknown or perceived sins it turns out the book may have been the work of an entire lifetime. Further sources for more about Codex Gigas – The Devil’s Bible:
