Hackers crack into Texas road sign, warn of zombies ahead:
Transportation officials in Texas are scrambling to prevent hackers from changing messages on digital road signs after one sign in Austin was altered to read, “Zombies Ahead.” [more at source]
In the above photo via BoingBoing and creator Kristin we have two things I love zombies and cake and one thing, Hello Kitty, that I don’t love so much. In this context however I think Hello Kitty is allowed to stay.
Be warned the images in this short are not for the faint of heart or unscientifically minded and may be extremely disturbing for some:
This disturbing film records the successful experiments in the resuscitation of life to dead animals (dogs), as conducted by Dr. S.S. Bryukhonenko at the Institute of Experimental Physiology and Therapy, Voronezh, U.S.S.R. Director: D.I. Yashin. Camera: E.V. Kashina. Narrator: Professor Walter B. Cannon. Introduced by Professor J.B.S. Haldane. [source]
There is much argument to and fro on the archive.org page that this video comes from as to its veracity. If it does truly show what it purports to it could actually prove the science behind the existence of ‘zombies’.
Thanks to Patrick Sauriol for this one. Hey Patrick, is it true that Corona Coming Attractions is set to make a triumphant return to the web complete with a slick new look and some cool new applications?

This poster looks promising:
Interested in snow? Zombies? Nazis? Well the Norwegian film Dead Snow has all of that as well as hot chicks in snow suits. Check out the trailer, subtitled in case you’re mono-linguistic like me and don’t understand Norwegian:
The trailer gives the the film that Shaun of the Dead / Evil Dead kind of feel to it just in a different language and with actors who , no doubt, eat a lot of fish.
Check out more pictures and info about Dead Snow aka Død snø, an official Sundance 2009 selection, over at shocktillyoudrop.com. I may be going to Sundance so you can be assured his will be one I’ll check out.

I loved Metallica’s video for their song, One, based on Johnny Got His Gun. Then they went a little too commercial for a lot of their fans with the black album and the garbage afterward. Well it appears they’re being creative again. Check out the video for All Nightmare Long from their album, Death Magnetic: Click to continue »

I was doing my morning surfing and came across an interesting article over at Bloody Disgusting:
We learned exclusively that Transition Entertainment is shooting a pilot presentation next April that will bring RE-ANIMATOR’s Herbert West back as “a teenage Dr. Frankenstein for the new millennium”. Entitled HERBERT WEST: RE-ANIMATOR THE SERIES, the pilot episode was written by Meredith Red and William Butler, with a director yet to be named…
[HERBERT WEST] (18) – is a teenage Dr. Frankenstein for the new millennium. He’s a dark, shy, somewhat sexy and narcissistic young man obsessed with finding the secret to life and learning the formula that will reanimate the dead. His philosophy, “Sometimes you have to cause death to lay the foundation for life” leaves him often-criticized by his young contemporaries. His unconventional theories about life and death make him a legend early on at Miskatonic University, yet he is respected as a brilliant young man of science. It takes him a while to see that his fellow classmate Harley is quietly developing feelings for him. There are many layers to Herbert’s complicated personality and little by little we will reveal each layer, learning about his past and what drives him to discover the secret of reanimation. Although I’m a fan of Stuart Gordon’s film I love this. Sounds like 90210 with zombies. If done right it could make for a fun new take on the H.P. Lovecraft story. Yet more proof that this genre is nowhere near dead (albeit undead).
Boo Scary (Mike Browne) here: If it's creepy things you like and have had to sleep with a light on at least once in your life you are in the right place. I am a lover of things that go bump in the night & I want to share.
